Addicted

Well it is official, I am addicted to Twilight. I have tried to read other books lately but I cannot. I call myself a reader and I cannot read. What does that mean? I love reading, and up until I read the Twilight series, I could devour book after book. Now, it seems, all I can do is read and reread each of the four wonderful books written by the brilliant Stephenie Meyers. It is bittersweet to be in this situation. I miss reading other things, but I really enjoy these books. I bought one book at a time, and before I knew it, I owned each book in not only hardcover but in paperback as well! I feel I am a sad story to those few anti-twilight people out there. I am glad they are stretching the last movie out into two because I fear I will somehow be released from the Twilight spell once all of the movies are out. What to do, what to do?

I again find myself watching Twilight the movie. There are several things I can say about it. First, there are many differences in the book and the movie. For those who haven't read the book and just watch the movie, I feel sorry for you. You have totally missed some good supporting information. For instance, the book tells of all the "special powers" that each of the Cullens possess. New Moon, the movie, barely touches on Jasper's power of controlling emotion. I was disappointed in that. Also, the additions of the killings in the movie is not in the book. But I understand putting some more information in the movie that was not in the book. If you are one of the people who haven't read the book, please do so. You understand the movies so much more with the additional knowledge. My husband must have asked me a thousand questions, especially about New Moon. I told him to read them, but you know how some men are about reading!! Second, I have to give two thumbs up to Catherine Hardwicke for picking an outstanding cast. When reading the books, I feel each character is so right for the actor/actress that was chosen for it. I also appreciate the fact that thus far (with the exception of Victoria in Eclipse) have remained the same. In my opinion, the first Victoria, played by Rachelle Lefevre, played a much scarier vampire. The chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is truly something else. No matter what the tabloids say about them...dating or not...they were a perfect fit for the roles. Another thing, the soundtrack for Twilight is absolutely amazing. Muse and the rest of the artists were a wonderful addition to an already incredible film. I purchased the soundtrack right away for my iPod. And lastly, I want to talk about some of my favorite scenes in the movie. The first scene that comes to mind is the scene in biology class when Edward and Bella are lab partners. They are acting so natural, it makes the viewer smile just watching. Another scene that is enjoyable is the LaPush surfing scene with Jacob. The book gives more detail, of course, but it gives you a little insight into the tention between the Cullens and the LaPush residents. On a side note, I really enjoy the DVD features, such as the audio commentary with Rob, Kristen, and Catherine. New Moon did not have that and I missed it. I just read that Eclipse will have it again. I enjoyed hearing Rob make fun of himself playing Edward. for instance he makes fun of his pea coat in several scenes and he was so proud of himself that he did the scene with the apple on his foot! I also enjoy his accent!! :) Back to my favorite scenes, I enjoyed the scene when Edward saves Bella from the goons in Port Angeles. In the audio commentary, Catherine is making fun of Rob by saying thank goodness it wasn't him driving or those people would've been dead! Hilarious!! Ok, I'll end with my favorite scene of the whole movie....the baseball game! That is my favorie scene by far in the entire film. There are parts that could possibly look so fake that were pulled off. Not to mention the incredible song that was playing during the scene, Supernatural Black Hole by Muse. I could listen to that sing for hours. It kind of pumps me up!

Love love love Twilight

I find it amazing how addicting these books and movies are. I am 25 years old and find myself feeling like a teenager again. This tale of love and supernatural combine in such a way to keep the reader not only entertained but wanting more. For some people, four books is too many. For those rare souls like myself, four books were merely a taste of greatness. I love to read. I have read hundreds of books. Yet, after reading the Twilight series, I find myself unable to read anything else. I have read and reread each book. Each time, I become more and more engrossed in the wonderful story inside. I find myself longing to be Bella, wanting a love so pure and strong with none other than a vampire. Destiny has brought two souls together, over a matter of decades, and defied many near death experiences. It's a beautiful thing. Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful woman, with a brilliant mind, who found a way to bring young and old together for a common interest, love. There are probably thousands of vampire stories, even more love stories, and I'm sure a few combinations of the two. None of those books or movies or stories can hold a candle up to the Twilight series. I can honestly say that I did things a little out of order to begin with, but I can assure you that no one has more respect or more dedication to this book series than I. When I say I did things out of order, I mean I (in this order) saw the Twilight movie, read New Moon book, saw New Moon movie, read Twilight book, read Eclipse book, read Breaking Dawn, saw Eclipse movie (3 times in theaters), and repeat (in order this time)! When I say I love this series is the greatest understatement I have ever made. I dream about it, I talk about it (to the point that my friends change the subject when I go off on a rant), and I listen to it (soundtracks from the movie on my iPod)! Bravo to Stephenie Meyer, Melissa Rosenberg, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the amazing cast who, in my opinion, portrayed the characters wonderfully! Breaking Dawn the movie is sure to be bittersweet. I cannot wait to see it, yet I do not want this feeling of being a part of the Forks community or even the Cullen family to end. Perhaps if I read the books until the covers fall off, I will be able to quote them to everyone! I already have seen Twilight so many times that I can say it word for word! Man I love these books!
